On October 27, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and Minister Gan Kim Yong for Trade and Industry of Singapore signed the Memorandum of Understanding on E-commerce Cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore (the MOU).
According to the MOU, the two sides will establish an e-commerce cooperation mechanism to strengthen policy communication, promote corporate and subnational cooperation, enhance cooperation on logistics and mobile payment, conduct capacity building and joint research and step up cooperation under regional, multilateral and bilateral economic and trade frameworks that both are party to.
In recent years, China-Singapore economic and trade cooperation keeps deepening, showing a good momentum of rapid growth. The signing of the MOU will expand bilateral cooperation on digital economy, not least e-commerce, and bring the China-Singapore all-round cooperative partnership progressing with the times to a new high.
